Current Admission Process

Currently most of the education institutes request for original documents from the student like original marksheet of HSC/ SSC, Category certificate, Leaving certificate etc. In case of student want to cancel admission for any kind of reason then it becomes difficult for the student to recover original documents from institute. Delay in receiving original documents may affect career of the student.

New Norms for Original Documents of admission process

UGC the commission issued a directive to ensure no higher education institutes shall nag students for submission of their original documents such as mark sheets, school leaving certificates and other related documents during the admission process.

Higher education institute can use original documents to verify authenticity and need not keep original documents with them. It must be returned to the students.Institute can keep only attested copies of the documents.

In case of admission process some higher education institutes make mandatory for the students to buy prospectus and then process for admission form submission. New rule prevents compulsory purchase of prospectus.

Fee Refund for Admission Cancellation: UGC Norms have also laid our standards for fee refund in case of admission cancellation. 4 tier system need to be followed by the institute in case of fee refund.The institutes are allowed to deduct not more than 10 per cent of the fees in case the students fails to render notification for withdrawal 15 days before the formally-notified last date of admission

1.For Admission Fee collection, Institute can opt for Technology and accept online payments from the students. In case of admission cancellation system would directly calculate total amount of Fee to be Refunded to the candidate and it would be directly deposited in the individual account. It can reduce hassle during admission cancellations.

2. Digital Document Management: Technology can help in managing admission documents. Institutes can collect online attested copies related to admission along with online admission form. All the documents would be stored in secured depository and it would be available at any point of time for the reference. Keeping huge amount of files related to admission document records can be saved. It would also help institutes to go paper less during admission process. Cost of photocopying/ printing of the documents can also be saved.
