General Information

Management Development Institute (MDI), one of India's premier B-schools, promoted by IFCI, thus launched its Murshidabad campus. The foundation stone for the institute was laid on 31 October 2010, by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon'ble Union Minister of Finance, Government of India at Jangipur, District Murshidabad, West Bengal. The new project is being guided and monitored by a Committee viz. Committee for MDI (Murshidabad).


MDI Mushidabad Admissions Open for MBA 2016-17
The land allotted on lease to MDI by Jangipur Bengal Mega Food Park Ltd. for setting up the new campus, is located 250 kms from Kolkata on National Highway No. 34 (Kolkata - Dalkhola) and is about 42 kms from Farakka barrage. Jangipur Bengal Mega Food Park Ltd. is a Company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 and the development of infrastructure for Food Park is in progress adjacent to MDI Murshidabad campus.

Facilities


Library / Computer Center

Library for storage of approx 30,000 books. The library would have reference section/ books section / journals section/Online Library section with 30 terminals/ A/V rooms/CCTV cameras/photocopy /printing/documentation facilities.
Other Attributes

    The Library and computer centre has been provided in the academic block
  •     Books stacks are amalgamated with reading area.
  •     Display area for journals-integrated with reading area has been provided.
  •     Documentation Centre has been provided as a part of the library area
  •     Provision of 2 reading rooms with one room open for 24X7 and keeping in mind the flow pattern is there.
  •     Digital library.
  •     Proper security for library.
  •     Library has 1 exclusive entry.
  •     Stacks are provided on one floor only.
  •     No integration between library & computer centre in terms of facilities.
  •     The library does not have any cubicle type reading areas but would have tables for 8-10 persons with normal chairs.
  •     Library has normal lighting requirements 400-500 Lux.
  •     No variation in illumination levels in library at one floor.
  •     Fixed glass windows in library
  •     Completely air conditioned Library.
  •     Fire –Exits have been taken care of.
  •     Bar- coded/Manual issue system.
Computer Centre:

  •     Server room.
  •     Provision of E-Learning studio.
  •     Provision of space of 70 terminals for students at ground floor.

Infrastructure


MDI Murshidabad will establish itself as a flourishing centre of excellence in management education, highquality research, executive development, and value added consultancy. In keeping with the traditionsalready in evidence at the MDI Gurgaon, best faculty from India and overseas, will deliver curriculum suited to local needs and national aspirations.

A Camp Office ( area 2854 Sq Ft.) has been set up w.e.f. April 2011 at DB-3, Sector -1, Salt Lake City, Kolkata with 02 academic and 07 non academic members for conducting Management Development Programmes i.e. Advanced Management Programmes, Senior Management Programmes and Open programmes. During last one year, MDI Murshidabad has successfully conducted a series of Executive Development Programmes in Kolakta, Guwahati and Lucknow and would be expanding its activities to other parts of Eastern India.

MDI Murshidabad has a guest house (area 2644 Sq Ft) near Camp Office at DB-61, Sector -1, Salt Lake City. Group Discussion / Personal Interviews have been conducted at this venue for MDI Gurgaon admissions this year, for the short listed candidates from eastern region.
