About DES College of Nursing
Maharashtra Nursing Council vide its letter dated 02.08.2007,
Indian Nursing Council vide its letter dated 23.11.2007 and Government of Maharashtra vide its letter dated 09.08.2006 gave
permission to start “College of Nursing” and allowed an intake of 40 students on permanently Non-grant basis.
The
College started functioning on 01.09.2008. The College is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
Dr. Smt. P. U. Mary is the first Principal of the college.
Aim of Nursing College
The Aim of the college is to prepare competent graduate nurses who will assume first level responsibilities in the
hospital and community in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
Objective of
Nursing College
The objective of this college is to provide quality nursing education in an environment that facilitates all round
development of the students. The college strives hard to prepare graduate nurses who will be conscientious in their actions,
knowledgeable in the field and responsible to self and others.

To make this college, an institution of repute in the field of nursing education which would offer need based
academic programs suited to the ever changing demands of the health care sector.
Mission of Nursing College
To impart quality nursing education and prepare competent, caring and compassionate nursing professionals who
will make a difference to the lives of the sick and needy individuals of the society at large.
Infrastructure of College
College has adequate infrastructure and facilities as specified by the Indian Nursing Council. Classrooms and
laboratories are well equipped with modern teaching aids. College has an auditorium. Library has large number of books and
journals for the usage of the students and staff.
Extra Curricular Activities for Students
There are facilities for various indoor and outdoor games and sports on campus such as basket-ball, cricket, foot-
ball, badminton and tennis and well equipped gymnasium for boys and girls separately. All students are members of the
Student Nurses Association of India. They participate in various sports and cultural events organized by the Student Nurses
Association of Pune city branch. They also participate in the sports and cultural events organized by Maharashtra University
of Health Sciences.
